Introduction To The Golden Age Of Islam
The Golden Age was a time (750 C.E. 1258 C.E.) when many new things were invented or discovered. Some of the many people who helped contribute to this technological boom are:
- Al Biruni. He invented 7 different ways that you could find out which way North was and which way South was.
- Rhazes (Latin Name). Rhazes was one of the very first "Modern Doctors" at that time.
- Ibn Umayl. Umayl was one of the many 11th Century Alchemists.
A History Of Islamic Inventions
Back in Ancient Times, Islamic people were the smartest, most innovative people around. They invented many devices that have become reinvented today for more modern uses, They invented what we now call "Reading Glasses." Reading Glasses are actually just two globes of glass that magnify whatever you are looking at and make them easier to read. They also found out about many functions of the human body such as how the eye works. "in the 10th century, Ibn al-Haitham, a Muslim astronomer, physicist and mathematician, invented the first pinhole camera. Through this invention, al-Haitham discovered how light enters the human eye to enable vision. Previously, the ancient Greeks had thought that the eye made its own light."
